Arneis / King Valley / Victoria
Pizzini delight in the diversity of Italian varietal wines, grown to the idyllic microclimes of Victoria's Alps. Alfred Pizzini pioneered Arneis in the King Valley after establishing that the area was so very highly suited to Italian white wine grapes. Viticulture here is a highly specialized affair which requires skillful clonal planting regimes and vine trellising techniques. Old world tradition and new world skill achieve a fresh, crisp Arneis wine with lingering flavours of green apple, nashi pears and tropical fruits, a good match with crisp skin chicken or ripe hard cheese.

Arneis / King Yarra Mornington / Victoria
Garry and Rollo Crittenden are dedicated vignerons who channel their efforts into producing small batches of fine wine. Arneis is a rare varietal originating from Piedmonte in northwest Italy which came close to extinction. Crittenden was the first commercially released Arneis made in the southern hemisphere. A backbone of fruit is sourced from good vineyards in the King Valley which is a region endowed with a climate almost identical to Piedmont. An addition from Crittenden's site in Mornington contributes vibrant fruit characters and aromatics.

Pinocchio is where Garry and Rollo Crittenden have a little more fun than usual. Over the years, the awareness of Sangiovese has expanded as wine lovers begin to discover how different the Italian reds are from French varietals, enthusiasts have come to appreciate the inherent synergy between Sangiovese and food. The distinguishing character of Sangiovese should be one of savouryness and refreshing acids around an impression of morello cherry. Chardonnay / Beechworth / Victoria
The mineral rich hills of Beechworth are Shangri-la for the realization of big boned Chardonnay wines in the like of Chablis. The mere 1.2 hectares of Piano Piano's vineyard make for an excruciatingly low yielding site, quality of fruit however is exceptional, the vinification is decidedly Burgundian. New oak ferments and vineyard yeasts are essential to the raison d'être of Sophie's Block, a mouthfilling Beechworth style to match west coast langoustine or suckling pork, caramelled goose liver or delicately seared abalone.
